Purpose of Event: To honor and support our community’s military and first responders - (past and present), and to bridge the gap of understanding and cooperation between our military, first responders and their community.

The Community BBQ is a day-long event that will feature music, local vendors, businesses, a special car display, a raffle (some great prizes) and events for all ages. The first 700 veterans and first responders to register for the event will get their meal free – a simple way to say “thank you.” The Community BBQ is a part of the Vets on Track Foundation Connecting with America initiative, a drive to help bring communities closer to their veterans and first responders. We need the support of our corporate community to make this Community BBQ a first class event. Together, we can help bring our communities closer together, while honoring those who work hard to keep us safe here at home, and around the world.

Event Proceeds: Proceeds raised from the Connecting with America Community BBQ will go to support the Vets on Track Foundation’s “Fresh Start Program.” Through this program, the Foundation furnishes homes for veterans and first responders who have been placed into permanent housing from living on the streets. The Foundation provides everything from household furniture, to dishes and small appliances to pictures for the wall – everything needed to turn a simple house into a home. Since July 2016, the Foundation has furnished more than 55 homes in the Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Southern Maryland area.
